CONTENT

This event draws inspiration from Nordic LARP, which is a style of live-action roleplay designed for exploring meaningful, emotionally rich, and psychologically complex experiences. No prior LARP experience is necessary. In fact, we expect that most participants will be completely new to it.

We’ll spend the beginning of the weekend gradually building our characters together, learning how to inhabit them, and discovering the imaginal world we’ll be entering. There will be plenty of guidance along the way, so you won’t feel like you’re being thrown into the deep end. Think of it as a gradual immersion rather than improvising without a map. From Friday evening through Sunday afternoon, we’ll spend the majority of our time in character; however, we’ll also intentionally step out of the fiction for some of the meals to reconnect as ourselves, breathe and reflect.

Why use characters and an imagined world for a T&P? We hope that the fictional world will gives us permission to venture beyond the familiar edges of ourselves. And sometimes we can approach difficult questions, hidden desires, or unfamiliar ways of being more freely through a character than we can directly. Our hope is that the fictional frame allows us to play more deeply, imagine more boldly, and ultimately discover something surprisingly real.

SAFETY

This event includes a shared set of safety practices that apply both in and out of character. We’ll learn and practice them together in an opening workshop before the LARP begins, so everyone starts with the same understanding and confidence on how to implement them.

These tools allow anyone, at any time, to:

• immediately stop an interaction,
• slow down or adjust the intensity of a scene,
• request a private out-of-character conversation,
• pause an entire group scene, and
• check in about emotional intensity in real time, so everyone knows where the other person actually is—not just where their character is.

Our goal isn’t to eliminate challenge or intensity. It’s to create enough trust and shared language that participants can explore difficult material with greater freedom, clarity, and care.

CHARACTERS & ROLES

LOVERS
Your goal is to connect with your lover in the otherworld. To find some kind of deeply desired and cherished archetype: the truest expression of love in your heart. 

SHADOW DANCERS
Your goal is to connect with some challenging shadow in the otherworld, and to figure out how to relate to it.
Does it need to be integrated, exorcised, boundaried, played with, fully expressed, transformed, or something else?

 ALCHEMISTS
Your goal is to gain some kind of deeper power, knowledge, or transmutation from the other world.
What gift, medicine, technology awaits you?
And what must you sacrifice to can access to it? 

 EARTH STEWARDS
Your goal is to give yourself up to the natural world, to trust the knowledge of the plants, animals, elemental energies. Not to gain knowledge, or power, but to nourish the world around you, and the untamed body within you and around us. 

ECSTATIC EXPLORERS
Your goal is to explore the other realm. You are motivated by curiosity and adventure. What strange worlds await you and what incredible discoveries can be made?
